

evolved over the past twenty years to become part of the Hobohemians first recording project, a CD featuring 20 original songs written and performed by Bruce and April. The Hobohemians have been performing together as a band for the past 6 or 7 years, playing in pubs, coffeehouses, college campuses, church basements, campgrounds and special events all over New England. The music features two-part family harmony and multi-instrumental renderings on a wide variety of original compositions steeped in traditional American music as well as interpretations of everything from bluegrass fiddle tunes to contemporary favorites. Bruce plays guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bazouki and harmonica, with a bit of hi hat and kick drum while April plays guitar, banjo and washboard. They like to get the crowd involved in the music with an occasional audience participation tune or fast dance song. When the audience is having fun, so are the Hobohemians!
The HOBOHEMIANS, father/daughter duo Bruce and April Hobart, have been singing together as long as April can remember. She grew up listening to her dad play in the bluegrass band "the Danville Junction Boys" and various other groups. At home, he would play songs for her on the guitar, fiddle and mandolin, and she would harmonize with him on the lyrics.
